Can acid reflux give you diarrhea and vomiting?

I've been suffering from severe acid reflux lately, and along with that, I've had both diarrhea and vomiting. This combination is making me feel really weak. Can acid reflux be the cause of both diarrhea and vomiting at the same time?

Hey, don't panic. While acid reflux usually affects the upper stomach, severe digestion issues or a stomach bug can cause both vomiting and diarrhea together. Please make sure you are drinking ORS to stay hydrated, and go see a doctor today to get the right treatment.

I literally just had this last week. It started with severe heartburn and ended up as a full-blown stomach infection with vomiting and loose motions. I had to get a doctor's prescription for antibiotics and gut-soothing medicines to finally recover. Please consult a doctor soon.

Vomiting and diarrhea together sounds more like gastroenteritis or food poisoning rather than just simple acid reflux. Skip the self-treatment, go to a clinic, and get a doctor to check you out before you dehydrate.

Oh no, I am also feeling very nauseous and my stomach is totally upset today. Is there a virus going around, or can acidity really cause all of this together? Has anyone else experienced this recently? I might have to see a doctor soon.

My thyroid condition often slows down my digestion, making me highly prone to sudden acidity, vomiting, and bowel issues. I highly recommend getting a complete checkup and consulting your doctor, as gut issues can often be linked to hormonal imbalances.

While acid reflux can cause upper gastrointestinal distress like vomiting, concurrent diarrhea suggests a systemic gut irritation or infection. The most prudent course of action is to consult a qualified physician to identify the exact cause and receive targeted treatment.

Drinking light buttermilk with a pinch of cumin powder can calm a upset stomach. However, if you are experiencing both vomiting and diarrhea, you can get dehydrated very quickly. Please see a doctor immediately to get proper medicine.

Both vomiting and diarrhea can rapidly deplete your body's electrolytes, which I always monitor on my health app. Please start taking electoral or ORS water immediately and consult a doctor online or offline to get the right medication.

I panicked so much when I had severe acidity followed by diarrhea and vomiting, thinking it was a major emergency. Turns out it was just a bad reaction to some spicy street food. A quick visit to the clinic and a day of light khichdi sorted me out, so don't worry, but do see a doc.

Yes, severe indigestion can trigger both vomiting and loose stools. Please take rest, keep sipping coconut water, and visit a local clinic to get checked.
