Can acid reflux cause vomiting after eating?

After eating, even a small meal, I sometimes experience severe acid reflux that immediately leads to vomiting. Is it common for acid reflux to cause vomiting right after eating, or should I be concerned?

Honestly, please don't sit on this. I kept ignoring my regular post-dinner throwing up thinking it is just normal acidity from spicy food, until it got so bad I had to be rushed to the ER. Please get a proper stomach checkup done before it damages your food pipe like it did to mine.

Yes, it actually can because the stomach acid relaxes the lower esophageal sphincter too much, forcing food back up. My gastroenterologist explained that when reflux gets severe, it triggers the gag reflex especially after a heavy meal. He put me on specific antacids for a few weeks and advised me to keep a three-hour gap between dinner and sleep.

Yaar, this used to happen to me every time I overdid the butter chicken or midnight biryani cravings. The food just refused to stay down and came right back up. I had to sadly cut down on late-night oily treats and start eating smaller portions, otherwise my stomach literally rebels.

My mother always tells me to drink warm water or a little buttermilk after eating to settle the chest burning. But when the vomiting started happening regularly, we went straight to our family doctor. Home remedies are good for mild discomfort, but constant throwing up definitely needs a doctor's prescription.

Bro, my stomach behaves like a dramatic daily soap opera sometimes, throwing up food just because I dared to eat one extra samosa. Don't worry too much, but definitely check with a doc if your tummy is throwing tantrums daily!

I literally just got over this last week. I was vomiting almost every night after dinner due to severe GERD. My doc put me on a 14-day course of PPIs and asked me to sleep with my head elevated, and I finally feel normal again. Go see a doctor, you will get quick relief.

Hey, practicing nurse here. While acid reflux does cause nausea and sometimes vomiting, frequent throwing up after meals isn't something to ignore as it can irritate your throat. Please consult a doctor to see if you need some mild medication to regulate your stomach acid.

Same thing used to happen to me after lunch. Try sitting upright for at least an hour after eating, it really helps gravity keep the acid down.

Haan beta, acidity badhne se ulti jaisa lagna aur ulti ho jana bohot aam baat hai. Aap thoda saunf chabaya karo khane ke baad, aur thanda doodh piya karo. Agar aaram nahi mile toh bade doctor ko dikha lena sankoch mat karna.

I had a similar issue and got an appointment at Max Hospital to be safe. The specialist there ran a few quick tests to rule out any infection or ulcer. It is always better to get a clear, professional diagnosis from a proper hospital rather than guessing online.

With back-to-back Zoom calls and late dinners, my acidity got so bad I was throwing up my breakfast. Honestly, you need to fix your meal timings first. If that doesn't work in a couple of days, just book an online consultation with a physician instead of delaying.
