Can acid reflux cause throat pain?

I frequently experience a burning sensation in my throat, almost like a constant sore throat, especially after meals. This happens along with my usual acid reflux. Can acid reflux directly cause throat pain like this?

Yes, absolutely. The stomach acid comes up into your food pipe, especially when you lie down, and it irritates the throat, causing a sore feeling. Try elevating your head with two pillows and avoid eating anything for 2 hours before sleeping; it really works.

Yes, it definitely does. I track my sleep and noticed my throat pain always aligns with nights when my sleep quality was poor due to late dinners. Try tracking your food-to-sleep gap; keeping at least a 3-hour gap helps prevent acid from reaching your throat.

Oh yes, it totally does! 😟 That scratchy, burning throat pain in the morning is almost always due to midnight acid travel. Try having some cold milk or warm honey water, it acts like a soothing blanket for your throat! 🍯

Waking up at 4 AM with a burning throat that feels like I swallowed sandpaper is my daily routine now. Yes, acidity loves to destroy throat peace. Currently surviving on antacids and prayer because sleep has officially left the building.

Hey, don't worry, throat pain is a very common symptom of acid reflux, often called silent reflux. The acid fumes can make your throat feel raw and dry, especially in the morning. Just sip some warm water and try to avoid spicy food for a few days to let it heal.
