Can acid reflux cause shoulder pain?

For a long time, I've had acid reflux, and now I'm also experiencing a dull ache in my left shoulder. My mother thinks it could be related to my stomach issues. Could acid reflux actually be causing this shoulder pain?

Haan yaar, severe acidity can definitely cause a weird ache in your left shoulder, na. The gas pressure or esophagus irritation can trigger nerves that make your shoulder feel heavy. But if the pain is too sharp, check with a doctor to be sure.

I literally had this last week! I was convinced I had injured my left shoulder, but my doctor told me it was referred pain from severe acid reflux. Once I took the prescribed antacids and stayed on a simple diet, both my heartburn and the shoulder ache completely resolved.

Look, severe gas and acidity can travel up and cause shoulder discomfort, that's true. But shoulder pain, especially on the left side, can also be a heart warning sign. Don't sit at home assuming it's just reflux; go to a local clinic and get it checked properly.

Hey, don't worry too much, but let's be safe. Acid reflux can irritate the diaphragm nerve, which actually shares pathways with your shoulder nerves. It's quite common, but because it can mimic cardiac issues, please visit a doctor just to rule out anything serious.

Yes, gas pressure from acidity often causes shoulder pain. A simple solution is to walk for 15 minutes after meals and avoid sleeping immediately. However, if the pain doesn't go away with a simple antacid, it's best to visit a doctor for a proper checkup.

Bro, yes! Last month during my exams, I was eating junk and my left shoulder started hurting so bad I thought my heavy backpack did it. Turned out to be just crazy acid reflux. Once I drank some cold milk and rested, the shoulder pain went away.
