Can acid reflux cause belly pain?

After I eat something spicy or heavy, I get a burning sensation in my chest, and sometimes this is followed by a lot of pain in my upper abdomen. Can acid reflux cause belly pain, or is it something else troubling my stomach?

My 10-year-old son often gets bad stomach cramps and burning when he has acidity, especially after eating junk food. I usually give him some ajwain water or buttermilk and make him sit upright. It really helps calm the belly pain down, but do keep an eye on what they are eating.

I can't say if it's the same for everyone, but for me, acid reflux always comes with a very uncomfortable, bloated ache right in the upper belly. It usually feels like a tight knot just below my ribs. Once the acidity settles down with some coconut water, that pain also goes away.

While acidity can definitely cause a burning sensation in the upper abdomen, please don't just assume it is only reflux. Belly pain can be due to ulcers, gallbladder issues, or gas. It is always safer to consult a gastroenterologist and get a proper diagnosis instead of self-treating.

Actually yaar, it totally does. Whenever I have late-night junk, the next morning my upper stomach hurts so bad along with that throat-burning feeling. I used to think it was some infection, but it was just severe acid reflux. Cutting down tea on an empty stomach worked for me.

Welcome to the club! At 50, if I even look at a plate of samosas, my stomach starts protesting. Yes, acidity and belly pain go hand-in-hand for me, it feels like a small volcano is erupting inside. Best to stick to dal-chawal for a few days to keep the peace.

With my PCOS, digestion is already a mess, and acid reflux definitely triggers some uncomfortable upper belly pain for me. I try not to jump to conclusions, but eating smaller meals and avoiding gluten helped ease both the bloating and the reflux. It's a slow process, so please take care.

Honestly, I get this sharp squeezing pain right in the middle of my stomach whenever my acidity acts up, and it makes me so anxious. Does anyone else also feel a bit nauseous along with this belly ache? I'm always worried it's something worse.
