Can acid reflux cause back pain?

I've been having persistent back pain, especially after meals, which is new for me. I also suffer from acid reflux regularly. I'm wondering if there's any connection between them. Can acid reflux cause back pain?

I was actually reading about this yesterday because my uncle keeps complaining about both. Apparently, sometimes the acid irritation in your esophagus can trigger nerves that make it feel like your upper back is aching. It's called referred pain, quite crazy how the body works na.

My doctor explained that severe acid reflux can mimic muscular back pain because the sensory nerves of the heart, esophagus, and spine are closely linked. He told me that if the pain gets worse after eating spicy food or lying down, it's likely connected. But we should still get a proper checkup done to rule out other spinal issues.

Mere saath bhi yeh bohot hota tha, severe back pain along with burning. Honestly, drinking cold milk or warm fennel tea right after dinner helped calm down the acid, and automatically my back discomfort also stopped. Just try to avoid heavy dinners and see if it makes a difference.

Bro, yes! Last month during exams I was living on coffee and street food, and my chest and back were hurting so bad. I thought I ruined my posture, but it was just terrible acidity. Once I cut down the caffeine, the back pain literally vanished.

At my age, I have seen every type of ache, and yes, acidity can definitely shoot pain straight to your shoulder blades and upper back. Don't worry too much, but don't ignore it either. Just eat your dinners early by 7 PM and walk for 15 minutes, it really works wonders.

Our bodies try to tell us when there is an imbalance inside, so stay positive and listen to it. Take a few deep breaths, eat simple home-cooked food, and give your digestion some rest. When the internal heat and acid settle down, the tension in your back will also ease naturally.

I am experiencing this exact same thing since last week and I was so scared to ask anyone. Is the back pain usually sharp or just a dull ache for you all? Please let me know if I should visit a general physician or a specialist for this.
