Can acid indigestion cause chest pain?

I've been having a lot of heartburn lately after meals, and sometimes I also get a sharp pain in my chest. It scares me a bit, but my family says it's just acidity. Can acid indigestion cause chest pain?

Please be very careful with this. I once ignored sharp chest pain thinking it was just bad acid indigestion, but it turned out to be a heart issue that required immediate attention. Don't take a risk, get an ECG done first to rule out anything serious.

I can only speak from my own experience, but when I eat heavy, oily food at night, the acid reflux causes a very tight, burning pain in my chest. It usually goes away after taking an antacid, but it can be really frightening when it first happens.

I totally get it, chest pain is incredibly scary and can easily cause panic. Acid indigestion often mimics heart pain because the esophagus lies close to the heart. Try to take some deep breaths, but definitely visit a doctor if the pain spreads.

Oh god, yes! Acid indigestion can cause a super scary burning feeling right in your chest that feels like a heart issue. Usually, drinking a glass of cold milk or sitting upright helps it pass, but it's always good to get checked if you are worried.

I completely understand how terrifying it is to feel chest pain, your mind immediately goes to the worst scenario. Acid reflux is a very common cause of this chest burning, but getting a doctor to check it will give you peace of mind and stop the anxiety cycle.

Haan bilkul, acidity se chest mein bohot tezz dard aur jalan hoti hai, lagta hai heart attack aagya, na? But agar ye dard pehli baar ho raha hai ya pashina aa raha hai, toh bina deri kiye doctor ke paas jaana hi behtar hai.
