Can abdominal pain be caused by gas?

I often get severe stomach pain after eating, along with a lot of bloating and discomfort. My wife thinks it's just gas, but sometimes it feels really bad. Can abdominal pain truly be caused by gas, or is it something more serious?

Yes, absolutely. Sometimes eating too much chana, rajma, or even raw cabbage can cause massive gas build-up and sharp abdominal pain. Try keeping a food diary to track what triggers it, and keep your meals light for a few days.

Haan ji, gas se pet mein bohot tez dard ho jata hai kabhi kabhi. Aap thoda sa gunguna pani pijiye aur dheere dheere gali mein tahal lijiye, aaram mil jayega. Bhagwan kare aap jaldi theek ho jayein.

I see this question a lot here! Yes, gas pain can migrate all over the belly and even feel like a sharp pinch. Try having some fennel seeds (saunf) after your meals and avoid carbonated drinks. If it happens daily, do consult a physician.

Beta, in my sixty years, I have seen that 90% of sudden stomach aches are just gas. Don't worry too much. Drink some warm water with a bit of hing, walk around a little, and see if you feel better in an hour.

Yes, gas can cause really sharp, scary pain sometimes. Try to lie down on your left side or drink some warm water. I hope you feel better soon.

Honestly, I once thought I just had bad gas and ignored severe stomach pain for three days, but it turned out to be appendicitis and I had to get emergency surgery. Please don't assume it's just gas if the pain is sharp and stays in one spot.

Oh god, same here, gas pain literally feels like a stabbing sensation sometimes and totally panics me! Usually, hot water fermentation or walking helps me release it. But yeah, if it doesn't budge, definitely see a doc.

Gas is indeed a very common culprit for abdominal discomfort, and it can feel surprisingly intense. However, if the pain persists for more than a day or is accompanied by fever or vomiting, it is best to consult a doctor to get an accurate diagnosis.

In our home, my mother always gave us warm jeera water whenever we had stomach pain, and it usually worked for gas. But she also taught us that if the pain is severe or doesn't go away, we must go to our family doctor. Take care.

Arre haan, gas ka dard bahut bura hota hai, lagta hai jaan nikal jayegi. Simple baat hai, thoda walk karo aur bahar ka heavy khana band karo. Agar do din mein theek nahi hota toh seedha doctor ke paas jao, zyada dimag mat lagao.
