Can a young person get arthritis?

My knee has been hurting a lot lately, especially when I exercise, and I'm only 22. My Dadi always says only old people get arthritis, but I'm worried. Can a young person get arthritis?

Yes, absolutely. Conditions like Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis or Rheumatoid Arthritis can happen to young people and even kids. It is not just an 'old age' disease, so if you have persistent joint pain or swelling, get a proper blood test done.

I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at just 22. People always used to say 'you are too young for this', which was so annoying. For me, regular low-impact exercise and keeping my stress levels low helped a lot.

I totally relate to this, I'm 25 and my knees ache so much during winters. It turns out young people can absolutely get arthritis due to autoimmune factors or old sports injuries. Don't ignore it, just get a simple checkup done.

Yeah, I got diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis (a type of arthritis) when I was 19. It sucks, but swimming and staying active helps a lot with the stiffness. Go see a doctor and get tested, don't sit on it.

My 14-year-old son was diagnosed with juvenile arthritis last year. It was heartbreaking, but with the right medication and regular physio, he is doing so much better now. Please don't lose hope, it is very manageable with proper care.

My doctor told me that autoimmune arthritis can strike at any age because it is about the immune system attacking the joints, not just wear and tear. He emphasized that early diagnosis is crucial to prevent long-term joint damage. Definitely consult a rheumatologist.

Oh my god, I get so anxious whenever my knuckles click or hurt, thinking I am developing arthritis at this age! It's so scary to think about. But many people manage it well, so if you are worried, please see a doctor for peace of mind.

Don't start taking random herbal supplements or home remedies you find online for joint pain. Arthritis in young people is a serious medical issue that needs proper diagnosis. Go to a qualified doctor and get an X-ray or MRI done first.

Yes, it is possible. If your joint stiffness is affecting your daily work or laptop use, don't ignore it. Book an appointment with a specialist over the weekend, get the tests done, and start treatment early so it doesn't affect your career.

Yes, young folks get it too. While you must follow your doctor's prescriptions, massaging with warm sesame oil and taking a little turmeric in warm milk at night can really help ease the stiffness ghar pe. Take care!
