Can a wisdom tooth cause fever?

My wisdom tooth has been acting up for the past few days, and I'm also feeling a bit feverish and run down. I'm wondering if there's a connection. Can a wisdom tooth infection give you a fever?

I haven't slept in two days because of my wisdom tooth throbbing, and now I feel like I'm running a fever too. If the tooth gets infected, it can definitely cause a fever. Save yourself the sleepless nights and go to a dentist immediately.

Yes, if the wisdom tooth is partially erupted and gets infected, it can cause a fever. Please consult a dentist soon for a proper examination and antibiotics if needed.

A fever usually indicates that an infection has developed around the tooth, which can be risky if left untreated. Do not ignore this or rely only on pain relief. Please visit a dentist or a doctor as soon as possible to get it evaluated.

Yes, a wisdom tooth infection (pericoronitis) caused a high fever for me last year. My tip is to do warm saline rinses to keep the area clean, but you absolutely need to see a dentist to get a prescription for the infection.
