Can a viral infection cause vomiting and diarrhea?

I've been feeling quite sick with stomach cramps, vomiting, and diarrhea for the past day. I'm wondering if it's just a bad stomach bug. Can a common viral infection cause both vomiting and diarrhea?

I get so anxious when both vomiting and loose motions happen together because dehydration can escalate quickly. Yes, stomach viruses (gastroenteritis) definitely cause this. Please monitor your water intake closely and call a doctor if you can't keep any liquids down.

Haan beta, viral infection me ulti aur dast dono ho jata hai, jisko hum log pet ka sankraman bolte hain. Shareer me paani ki kami mat hone dena, thoda thoda karke jeera paani piyo aur bade doctor sahab se dawa likhwa lo.

I am currently suffering from this and feel extremely weak and dizzy. Does anyone else feel like their stomach is completely empty but still feel nauseated? Should I wait it out or visit the clinic right away?

Hey, don't stress too much! It sounds like a typical case of stomach flu or viral gastroenteritis. Sip on ORS or coconut water slowly and give your stomach some rest. If it doesn't improve by tomorrow, just consult a doc, okay?

Yes, viral gastroenteritis commonly leads to vomiting and diarrhea. Don't worry, it usually runs its course in a couple of days. Just focus on hydration with ORS and light fluids, and consult a doctor to get an anti-vomiting medicine so you feel comfortable.
