Can a viral infection cause a fever?

My son has been down with a viral infection for a couple of days now, and he's developed a high fever. My mother-in-law says it's normal, but I'm worried. Can a viral infection really cause a fever?

Yes, absolutely, fever is the most common way your body reacts to a viral infection. When I had it last month, my doctor told me to take paracetamol only if the fever crossed 100 degrees, and focus on sponge baths and plenty of fluids to let the body heal naturally.

Yes, it absolutely can. I literally just recovered from a viral fever last week and was so exhausted. Just drink lots of coconut water, take plenty of rest, and don't skip your doctor's advice on taking paracetamol.

Fever is very common with viral infections, but if you have diabetes like me, you must monitor your sugar levels closely during a fever as stress can spike them. Avoid sweet energy drinks or honey home remedies, stick to simple warm water and soup, and consult your doctor.

I totally get it, running a fever makes you feel completely drained and miserable. It is indeed a classic sign of a viral infection as your immune system fights back. Make sure you get some good rest and stay hydrated.

Beta, hamare zamane se hum dekhte aa rahe hain, mausam badalne par viral fever sabko hota hai. Shareer ko aaram do, garm paani piyo aur dactar ki salah lo, do-teen din me sab thik ho jayega.

Haan bhai, viral me bukhar hona bahut common hai. Doctor ko dikhake ek basic paracetamol le lo aur ghar pe dahi-chawal ya d दलिया khao. Faltu me zyada paise kharch karne ki zaroorat nahi hai, rest se hi thik hoga.

Yes, viral infections trigger pyrogens in the body which raise your temperature. When I had it, my physician explained that we should keep a temperature log and not take antibiotics since they don't work on viruses anyway. Stick to supportive care and consult a professional.

Please don't ignore it if the fever persists for more than 3 days. I once thought it was a simple viral fever, ignored it, and ended up with severe complications. Go to a clinic and get a basic blood test done to be safe.

At 50, a simple viral fever makes me feel like I have run a marathon backwards! It is absolutely normal to get a fever with a virus. Just pop the pill your doctor gave you, stay in bed, and enjoy some guilt-free TV time.

Fever is the body's internal fire clearing out the viral toxins. Rest completely, practice very gentle deep breathing (Anulom Vilom) if you have the energy, and drink warm herbal infusions. Of course, do follow your doctor's advice for medication.
