Can a uti cause a kidney infection?

I often get UTIs, and my doctor has always warned me to treat them quickly. She said it's important to prevent complications. Can a UTI actually turn into a kidney infection if not taken care of properly?

Yes, an untreated urinary tract infection can easily travel up from the bladder to one or both of your kidneys, which is a much more serious condition. For safety, you should never ignore symptoms like a burning sensation or frequent urination. Please get a proper urine test and consult a doctor before any complications arise.

I have dealt with chronic UTIs for years, and yes, if you don't complete your antibiotic course, the bacteria can spread to your kidneys. When it becomes a kidney infection, you will start getting severe lower back pain and shivering chills with fever. My advice is to finish your full medication course and drink at least 3 liters of water daily.

Yes, it definitely can, and a kidney infection will put you out of work for a week easily. Don't waste time hoping a bladder infection will clear up on its own. Book a quick online doctor consultation, get your urine routine test done today, and start the antibiotics so you don't end up needing hospital admission.

Please do not make the same mistake I made by ignoring a mild burning sensation for a week, thinking it would go away. It turned into a severe kidney infection with a high fever, and I had to be hospitalized on IV fluids for three days. Go get a doctor's checkup and start treatment immediately.

Yes, anatomically, the ureters connect your bladder to your kidneys, allowing bacteria like E. coli to migrate upwards if the bladder infection isn't treated. My doctor explained that a kidney infection (pyelonephritis) is a medical emergency that can lead to permanent tissue scarring. Please get a urine culture done and consult a physician right away.

Yes, a bladder UTI can progress to a kidney infection if left untreated. Use your health app to track your water intake and log any symptoms like back pain or fever immediately. It is highly recommended to book a home sample collection for a urine routine test and share the report with a general physician online.

I have been feeling some burning when peeing for the last few days, but I was too shy to tell anyone. Now my lower back is also starting to hurt a little bit, and I am getting quite scared. Can a kidney infection start this quickly, and should I go see a doctor immediately?
