Can a tooth infection cause a stroke?

I've had a persistent toothache and swelling for a few days, and I'm really putting off going to the dentist. My friend told me that neglecting a tooth infection can have serious consequences, even like causing a stroke. Is there any truth to this?

I always believe in staying on top of our health checks because untreated infections can spread. While a direct stroke is rare, severe dental infections can cause inflammation in the body which isn't good for your blood vessels. Please get a dentist's opinion and complete any prescribed antibiotic courses.

Man, my tooth is aching so bad tonight that I can't even sleep, and reading about strokes is not helping my anxiety at all! Honestly, let's just go to a dentist tomorrow instead of googling ourselves to death at 3 AM. A tooth pulling is better than a stroke any day.

Bro, a basic tooth infection won't directly give you a stroke out of nowhere. But if you ignore a deep infection for months, bacteria can enter your bloodstream and cause serious complications. I had a root canal last month, trust me, just get it treated and don't overthink.

I panicked so much when I read some weird article online linking dental health to heart attacks and strokes. But my dentist reassured me that this only happens in extremely rare, ignored cases where people have pre-existing heart issues. A normal cavity or infection won't cause this, so relax.

Hey, don't worry too much! While there is a link between long-term gum disease and heart health because of chronic inflammation, a typical tooth infection won't suddenly cause a stroke. Just visit a local dentist and get it cleaned or treated so it doesn't cause you more pain.

A stroke? That sounds way too extreme! I once had a massive wisdom tooth infection that kept me from eating my favorite butter chicken for a week, but no stroke happened. Just get some medicine from the dentist so you can enjoy your food in peace again.
