Can a tight bra cause chest pain?

Sometimes after wearing a particular bra, especially if it feels a bit tight, I get this dull ache in my chest area. I'm wondering if a tight bra can actually cause chest pain, or if this is something else entirely that I should be worried about?

Yes, absolutely. A tight underwire or tight straps can squeeze your ribcage and cause bad chest muscle pain.

Oh god, I actually rushed to the clinic last year thinking I was having some heart issue because of left-side chest pain. It turned out to be muscle soreness from a new, tight sports bra! Once I stopped wearing it, the pain completely vanished, so don't worry too much.

Yes, it can cause chest wall pain due to the pressure on your muscles and skin. Try wearing a soft sports bra or a loose cup size for a few days to give yourself some relief.

Hey, take a deep breath. A very tight bra can restrict your breathing and put pressure on your ribs, leading to a dull ache. Try wearing loose cotton clothes or go bra-free at home for a couple of days to see if it gets better. But if the pain is sharp or you feel breathless, please go see a doctor immediately.

I have noticed that during my cycle, my chest gets super sensitive anyway, and a tight bra just makes the muscle pain much worse. I am not a doctor, but switching to wireless bras helped me a lot. Just keep an eye on it to make sure it's not a deeper issue.
