Can a stroke go unnoticed?

My uncle had a stroke many years ago, and he never really recovered fully. I'm concerned about my own health, and I wonder if it's possible for a person to have a stroke and not even notice it at the time? Can these 'mini strokes' go completely unnoticed?

Wait, really? I had no clue a stroke could just happen and go unnoticed. My dad sometimes gets slight numbness in his arm and ignores it. I'm definitely going to tell him to get it checked out by a doc now.

Yes, certain mild strokes can go unnoticed, especially if the symptoms are just temporary numbness or slight confusion. While warm herbal teas and rest are good for general fatigue, if you suspect any neurological symptom, please go see a doctor immediately.

Yes, silent strokes can go unnoticed because they strike non-critical areas of the brain. When my mother had an MRI for sinus issues, the scan showed she had a tiny old stroke we never knew about. Keep a close eye on blood pressure and cholesterol.

I didn't know a stroke could happen without us noticing. That sounds very scary to think about. Does it mean we should get regular brain scans if we have high blood pressure, or are there other small signs we should watch out for?

Yes, transient ischemic attacks (TIAs) or 'mini-strokes' often go unnoticed because the symptoms resolve within minutes. My neurologist explained that even if symptoms vanish, they are a major warning sign for a full stroke, so immediate medical evaluation is necessary.

My body makes so many weird noises and aches that a mini-stroke could probably slip right past me unnoticed! Jokes aside, yes, 'silent' strokes are real. If you've been feeling randomly clumsy or forgetful, don't shrug it off as old age.

I often get sudden mild tingling in my face and worry if it's a tiny unnoticed stroke. It's so scary to think about. Has anyone else experienced this and got an MRI done? I'm thinking of seeing a doctor soon just to be sure.
