Can a stroke be caused by lupus?

I have been diagnosed with lupus for several years now, and I'm always concerned about potential complications. I've heard that some autoimmune diseases can increase the risk of stroke. Can lupus specifically be a cause of a stroke?

Hey, don't stress too much okay? While lupus is an autoimmune issue that can cause blood vessels to inflame and increase stroke risk, it doesn't mean it happens to everyone. Just keep in touch with a good doctor and they will help manage the risks.

Lupus does increase the risk of blood clots and inflammation in the arteries, which can lead to a stroke. Tracking symptoms like sudden numbness or high BP on health apps can help you stay alert. It is crucial to have regular rheumatologist and cardiologist follow-ups.

Yes, lupus can unfortunately affect blood vessels and lead to clotting, which increases stroke risk. My child also has a chronic condition, and I know how scary these connections are. The key is to manage the lupus flares properly with your doctor's advice.

Dealing with autoimmune stuff like thyroid has taught me that everything is connected. Lupus can cause blood vessel inflammation, which elevates stroke risk. Please make sure to get routine blood tests done and show the reports to your specialist regularly.

I had a minor stroke last year, and the doctors later connected it to my undiagnosed lupus and high clotting factors. It was a huge shock. Now I am on proper medication to prevent clots, and I feel much better. Please get a thorough evaluation done.

My cousin who has lupus was warned by her doctor about the risk of stroke due to potential clotting issues. They put her on some blood thinners to manage it. I can't give medical advice, but discussing this risk with your specialist is definitely the best step.
