Can a sonogram detect ovarian cancer?

I've been feeling some persistent discomfort in my pelvic area, and my aunt recently passed away from ovarian cancer. I'm planning to see a doctor, but I wanted to know beforehand: can a regular sonogram or ultrasound help detect ovarian cancer?

Yes, a pelvic sonogram is usually the first test to check for any cysts or masses on the ovaries. If your doctor clears you, try keeping up with gentle daily walks to manage stress while you go through these medical screenings. It really helps keep the mind calm.

Yes, a transvaginal ultrasound is actually super helpful for spotting any unusual growth in the ovaries! 🌸 It's a standard and painless scan, so don't worry too much. Keep positive and let the doctors guide you! 😊

Yes, a sonogram can detect abnormalities, but it cannot definitively prove if a mass is cancerous. In my case, I had to undergo further MRI scans and a biopsy because the ultrasound results were inconclusive. Please consult a specialist oncologist for a complete evaluation.

A pelvic sonogram can indeed show fluid or masses on the ovaries, which helps doctors investigate further. Along with your medical tests, practicing gentle deep breathing can help soothe your nervous system during this anxious time. Stay calm and strong.

My daughter had to get a pelvic sonogram last year when she had severe abdominal pain and bloating. The ultrasound was very helpful in showing a complex ovarian cyst, which we then treated. It's a very safe first step, so please get it done under a doctor's guidance.
