Can a sonogram detect kidney stones?

I've been having some dull pain in my side recently, and I'm worried it might be kidney stones. I had a general abdominal sonogram done a few months ago for another issue. Would that sonogram have shown kidney stones if I had them then?

Haan, bilkul dikhta hai. Kidney stones can easily be detected in a standard ultrasound scan of the abdomen. If you have sudden severe pain in your lower back or side, go get a sonogram done immediately without wasting any time.

Yes, a sonogram can definitely detect them. My teenage son had sharp pain last winter and our pediatrician ordered an ultrasound which clearly showed a 4mm stone in his kidney. Just keep them well-hydrated and follow the doctor's instructions.

Yeah, my roommate had crazy stomach pain during exams and went for a quick sonogram. They found a small kidney stone within minutes. It's a pretty chill scan, doesn't take much time at all.

Yes, an ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis is a standard and highly effective way to detect kidney stones.

Actually yaar, yes it can! I had this crazy back pain last month and thought it was muscle pull, but the sonogram clearly showed two tiny kidney stones. It is super quick and painless, so just get it done.

Yes, an ultrasound abdomen is very effective for finding kidney stones. My urologist told me that while CT scans are the most precise, a sonogram is the safest first-line test because it has zero radiation and easily catches most stones over 3mm.

Yes, kidney stones show up clearly on a sonogram. It is a very cheap and common test, costs around 800 to 1200 rupees in most local diagnostic labs. If you have any back pain, get it done and drink plenty of water daily.
