Can a pulled muscle cause a fever?

After my gym session yesterday, I felt a sharp pain in my back, definitely pulled a muscle. But since morning, I'm also feeling a bit feverish, like body aches and all. Is it possible for a muscle pull to cause a low-grade fever?

A simple muscle strain generally does not cause a fever on its own. If you have both, it could be a sign of an infection or a systemic issue. It's best to consult a physician to get a proper diagnosis rather than assuming they are connected.

I am not very sure about this, but I didn't think a muscle pull could cause a fever. Are you also feeling any shivering or swelling near the muscle? Maybe someone here can guide us if that's normal or not.

I deal with PCOS, so I know how weird body symptoms can get, but a fever usually means the body is fighting something else. Honestly, I'd suggest not ignoring a fever. Please consult a doctor just to be sure it's not some underlying infection.

Hey there! Normally a muscle pull shouldn't give you a fever at all. Maybe you caught a mild bug at the same time? Take some good rest, sip on warm water, and definitely see a doctor if the fever stays! Get well soon.

In all my years of sports and minor injuries, a muscle pull has never given me a fever. If you have a temperature, it might be a viral fever that coincidentally started now, or some inflammation. Keep a check on your temperature and consult a family doctor.
