Can a pinched nerve cause a fever?

I've been diagnosed with a pinched nerve in my shoulder recently, and it's quite painful. Since yesterday, I've also developed a mild fever and body aches. Are these two things connected, or is it just a coincidence that I have a fever now?

No, a nerve issue usually doesn't cause fever. If you have a temperature, it could be an infection or something else entirely. Please do not delay and get a proper checkup from a doctor to find the real reason.

A pinched nerve can make you feel like a 90-year-old, but it won't give you a fever! Fever usually means some bug or infection is partying in your body. If you've got both, your body is just trying to win an award for multi-tasking, so go see a doc.

I had a severe pinched nerve in my lower back last year and had terrible pain, but no fever at all. I am not a doctor so I can't say for sure, but in my experience, they are two separate things. You should probably consult a clinic.

Please be careful with this. I ignored my back pain and ended up with severe complications that took months to heal. If you are running a fever along with nerve pain, it might be an infection near the spine or something else that needs urgent medical attention.

Don't search this on Google, you will only panic more. Fever usually points to some viral or bacterial infection, not a compressed nerve. Just go to a general physician instead of trying home remedies from the internet.

At my age, every joint creaks and every nerve pinches daily, but thankfully no fever from it yet! If you have a fever, your body is fighting some bug, beta. Go see a doctor and get some proper rest.

Wait, are you getting shivers too? I am dealing with terrible neck pain and suddenly felt hot yesterday, now I am really scared. Has anyone else actually got a fever from this, or is it just me overthinking?

I have dealt with a pinched cervical nerve for five years now. It causes numbness, tingling, and sharp pain, but never a fever. If you have a fever, check for a cold or viral infection, and rest up with warm fluids.

Just recovered from a pinched nerve in my neck last week. It was pure agony, but no fever. My physiotherapist told me that nerve compression itself doesn't raise body temperature. You might just have a common cold along with it.

I have thyroid issues and have to get regular blood tests to make sure everything is fine. When you have multiple symptoms like nerve pain and fever, getting a full blood panel under a doctor's guidance is the best way to know what is happening.
