Can a person with latent tb infect others?

Someone close to me recently tested positive for latent TB, and I'm quite concerned about my family's health. We live in the same house. Can a person who has latent TB still transmit the infection to others, or is it only active TB that's contagious?

No, a person with latent TB absolutely cannot infect others! I panicked so badly when my husband's test came positive for latent TB, thinking my kids and I would get infected. But the doctor reassured us that the bacteria is inactive, so there are zero symptoms and no risk of spreading it.

In our younger days, there was a lot of fear around TB, but medical science has simplified things now. Latent TB just means the bacteria is sleeping inside the body and is not contagious. I had it years ago, took the preventive course of medicine, and my family remained perfectly healthy.

No, they can't spread it. Latent means the infection is locked down by your immune system. To keep your immunity strong so it stays latent, focus on a high-protein diet, regular exercise, and getting enough sleep. Just keep track of your health with your physician.

My grandmother was worried and suggested some herbal steam, but the doctor calmly explained that latent TB cannot spread to anyone else. It is not active, so there is no coughing of bacteria. We just followed the doctor's simple preventive treatment to make sure it doesn't activate later.

From what I've read, latent TB is completely non-infectious. Managing chronic issues like PCOS has made me realize how important clear medical facts are over random fears. You don't need to isolate yourself or worry about infecting your family, just get regular checkups.

No transmission risk at all with latent TB. It's safe to go about your daily life, and doing light cardio like brisk walking or cycling is great to keep your lungs and overall fitness level up. Just check with your doctor before starting any intense physical routine.
