Can a person survive without sleep?

For the past few weeks, I've been having a lot of trouble sleeping properly because of work stress. I hardly get 3-4 hours sometimes. It makes me wonder, how long can a human body actually go without sleep before it causes serious issues?

No, human beings absolutely cannot survive without sleep, it can lead to severe mental and physical breakdown. I have been having terrible insomnia for the last two weeks, barely sleeping 2 hours a night, and I feel like I'm losing my mind. Does anyone else get this panic that their body will just stop working due to no sleep?

Sleep deprivation is serious. My son went through a phase during his board exams where he barely slept, and his health completely deteriorated, he even fainted once. We had to step in, make a strict schedule, and ban screens after 9 PM. Parents, please don't let your kids sacrifice sleep for studies.

Without sleep, your muscles won't recover, your brain gets foggy, and your body eventually shuts down. If you are struggling to sleep, try getting some physical activity during the day. A brisk 45-minute evening walk or light jogging really helps tire the body naturally, just check with a doc first if you have other health issues.

Severe, prolonged lack of sleep is a medical emergency that can lead to hallucinations, high BP, and heart risks. If you are going days with zero sleep, please don't rely on internet tips. Go see a physician or a sleep specialist immediately to find the root cause.

Honestly, during exam season I try to pull back-to-back all-nighters, but by day 3 my brain completely freezes. You can survive a day or two on chai and coffee, but eventually, you will just crash. Sleeping is literally the best part of the day anyway, don't skip it guys.

I was actually reading about this the other day, and the record for staying awake is around 11 days, but the mental damage is insane. Sleep is like a self-cleaning mechanism for the brain. It's crazy how we take something so basic for granted until we can't do it anymore.

No child, sleep is essential for the soul and body. In our times, if someone couldn't sleep, we would give them a cup of warm milk with a pinch of nutmeg or turmeric before bed. Keep your feet clean and massage them with a little warm mustard oil. It relaxes the nerves nicely.
