Can a person develop asthma?

Never had asthma as a child, but lately, I've been experiencing shortness of breath and a persistent cough, especially at night. It feels like my chest is tight sometimes. Is it possible for someone to just develop asthma even if they didn't have it when they were young?

Yes, absolutely. A person can develop asthma at any point in their life, even if they never had any respiratory issues during childhood.

Yes, adult-onset asthma is very real and increasingly common, especially with the crazy pollution levels in our metro cities. If you have a persistent cough or wheezing, don't ignore it. Go get a spirometry test done at a good clinic.

You can definitely develop asthma as an adult due to allergies or environmental factors. If you are diagnosed, work with your doctor to manage it and ask if you can continue light cardio or brisk walking. Keeping your lungs active through safe exercise really helps in the long run.

Yes, it is clinically proven that asthma can develop at any age, often triggered by allergies, respiratory infections, or occupational hazards. If you are experiencing shortness of breath, please consult a pulmonologist. Relying on a professional medical diagnosis is always the safest path.

Indeed, asthma can manifest later in life when our immunity or environment changes. Along with the inhalers your doctor prescribes, practicing gentle breathing exercises like Anulom Vilom daily can beautifully support your lung health. Just take it easy and breathe deep.

I literally got diagnosed with asthma at age 22 after moving to Delhi for college, never had it as a kid. The dust and smog here are no joke and can trigger it anytime. If you are wheezing or coughing constantly, just get a doc to check it out.

I developed a random wheezing cough last winter and thought it was just lack of sleep catching up with me, but turns out it was mild asthma. Yes, your lungs can suddenly decide to act up out of nowhere. Go to a doctor and get an inhaler so you can at least sleep peacefully at night.

A person can get asthma due to changing weather or dust allergies. Drinking warm ginger water and keeping your room dust-free can give you some comfort. But if you are having serious trouble breathing, please go straight to a doctor instead of trying home remedies.
