Can a pacemaker detect a heart attack?

My uncle recently got a pacemaker installed after some heart issues. We were discussing what all it can do, and he was wondering if the device can actually detect if he's having a heart attack. It would be helpful to know if it provides that kind of warning.

Standard pacemakers are designed to control your heart rhythm, not necessarily to detect a heart attack. Some advanced devices might log abnormal rhythms caused by an attack, but doctor's advice is best on what your specific model can do.

I have high BP and monitor my heart closely. A pacemaker mainly keeps the heartbeat steady, it won't warn you if a blockage is happening. You still need regular clinic checkups and a healthy lifestyle to prevent attacks.

Haan na, many people think pacemakers do everything. But actually, it just keeps the pulse normal. If there is pain or sweating, don't wait for the machine to tell you, go to the hospital immediately.

Stay positive and take care of your health. The pacemaker is a beautiful guide for your heart's rhythm, but it cannot always detect a sudden blockage or attack. Always listen to your body's natural warning signals.

My father has a pacemaker from Kokilaben Hospital. The doctor clearly explained that it doesn't stop or detect heart attacks, only helps with slow heartbeats. If you feel tightness or chest pain, please consult your cardiologist immediately.
