Can a kidney infection cause bloating?

For the past few days, I've been feeling really bloated, especially after meals. I also had a UTI recently that wasn't fully treated. Could a kidney infection be making me feel so gassy and swollen?

Our bodies are very sensitive, and when one organ is under pressure, the whole system can feel heavy and bloated. Yes, a kidney infection can affect your digestion and cause a full, bloated feeling. Keep your mind calm, drink warm water, and let a doctor guide you back to wellness. Take care of yourself.

I struggle with bloating all the time because of my PCOS, but if this is a sudden, painful kind of bloating, it could definitely be linked to a kidney issue. Sometimes our internal organs put pressure on each other when there is inflammation. I can't say for sure, but please be cautious and get a medical opinion rather than waiting it out.

Please don't make the mistake I did and ignore these signs. I thought my bloating and mild back ache was just gas from lunch, so I kept taking antacids. By the time I went to the hospital, the kidney infection had spread and I had a severe fever. If you are feeling bloated along with fever or side pain, get a urine test done immediately.

Yes dear, it can. When the kidneys are fighting an infection, fluid retention and abdominal swelling are quite common, which makes you feel very bloated. Make sure you are drinking enough water but avoid heavy, salty meals right now. It is always best to show a doctor today itself so it doesn't get complicated.

Haan na, actually it does cause a lot of stomach discomfort and bloating. When my sister had a kidney infection, she was feeling so heavy in her stomach like she had eaten a massive meal, even though she barely ate anything. Thoda rest lo and please consult a doctor soon, self-medicate bilkul mat karna.

Bloating usually points to gut or water retention issues, and a kidney infection can absolutely trigger both. When your kidneys aren't filtering properly, your body holds onto fluids, which ruins your digestion and causes that heavy feeling. Keep your diet very clean, skip any heavy protein supplements for now, and see a doctor to get the right treatment.

It can indeed. The inflammation in the kidneys can irritate the surrounding nerves and abdominal cavity, slowing down your digestion and causing gas and bloating. Since kidney infections are bacterial, they won't go away without proper antibiotics. Have you checked if you have a fever? Please get a doctor to write a prescription.

At my age, even breathing causes bloating, but yes, a kidney infection is a known culprit for this. When the kidneys are struggling, the whole digestive system seems to slow down and complain. Don't try to solve this with Eno or gelusil, my friend. Go to the family doctor and get the proper medicine before it becomes a bigger headache.

Man, as if the back pain wasn't enough, kidneys have to mess with our stomachs too! Yes, bloating can happen because the inflammation nearby makes your gut go on a strike. Don't worry too much, you aren't turning into a balloon forever. Just get those antibiotics from a doctor and you'll be back to normal soon.
