Can a kidney burst?

I had a bad fall a few weeks ago, and though I'm mostly fine now, I keep getting these sharp pains in my side sometimes, especially when I move certain ways. My friend jokingly said I might have burst a kidney. Can a kidney actually burst from an injury or any other condition?

Yes, a kidney can rupture or burst, usually due to severe trauma, a major infection, or blockage from a very large kidney stone. This is a medical emergency, so please seek immediate hospital care if there is severe pain.

Please don't take this lightly. I once ignored severe back pain thinking it was just muscle strain, and it ended up being a massive kidney infection that nearly ruptured the organ. If you are experiencing sudden, excruciating flank pain or blood in your urine, go to the nearest emergency room immediately.

A kidney rupture is a highly serious condition that usually happens from severe injury or medical blockages, and it definitely means you must stop all physical activity. While regular walking and hydration are great for keeping your kidneys healthy in daily life, any symptoms of severe internal pain require a complete halt and an immediate trip to the hospital.

My father went through a major scare last year when his kidney was severely damaged and swollen due to a blocked kidney stone. The doctors told us there was a real risk of rupture if we hadn't come in on time for surgery. If someone is in intense pain, please take them to a hospital right away instead of waiting.

Beta, agar peeth ke peeche bohot tez dard ho raha ho aur peshab mein khoon aaye, toh bilkul deri nahi karni chahiye. Gurda (kidney) phatne ka darr tabhi hota hai jab koi badi chot lage ya andar koi badi rukawat ho. Tum turant bade hospital jaakar doctor ko dikhao, bhagwan sab theek karenge.

Yes, a kidney can absolutely rupture, and it is a life-threatening medical emergency. If you or someone else is showing signs of severe lower back pain, fever, nausea, or blood in the urine, do not waste time reading answers online. Go straight to a good hospital's emergency room right now.
