Can a human survive without a liver?

Someone at work was talking about organ failure and how critical some organs are. It made me think about the liver, since it does so many important things for the body. Is it really possible for a person to survive if they lose their liver entirely?

I was actually just reading up on this because I love biology trivia. Turns out, you absolutely cannot survive without a liver at all because it does hundreds of critical things like clearing toxins and processing nutrients. But the mind-blowing part is that you can survive with just a piece of it because it can regenerate itself back to full size!

At this point in my life, my liver is probably screaming at me to eat less fried food, but honestly, you cannot survive without one. It is a vital organ, so don't let anyone convince you otherwise. If a liver fails, a medical transplant is the only real option we have to stay alive.

Let's be real here—you absolutely cannot live without a liver, and no 'detox tea' or home remedy is going to save a failing one. If you are reading about liver health online, please ignore the fake remedies and only trust a qualified gastroenterologist or transplant specialist for accurate information.

I can't offer any medical facts, but my uncle went through a partial liver transplant last year. The doctors explained to us back then that a person cannot live without a liver, which is why the transplant was so urgent. Fortunately, both he and the donor are doing great now because the liver has amazing healing abilities.

When my daughter was diagnosed with a liver condition, we were terrified and asked the doctor if a person can live without it. They explained that complete survival without a liver isn't possible, but they reassured us that children's livers have incredible regenerative powers. Proper medical care and a healthy diet made all the difference for her.
