Can a high fever cause a seizure?

My little one had a very high fever last night, 104 degrees. My mother-in-law mentioned something about fits if fever goes too high, and I got really scared. Just wanted to know if this is a real possibility for kids, doc?

Honestly, when I have a high fever, the only thing on my mind is hot khichdi and lime juice, but yeah, high fever can actually trigger seizures. It's called a febrile seizure, especially in kids. If it's a super high temp, please don't just sit and wait, check with a doc instead of worrying about what to eat next!

My nephew had this and we completely panicked thinking it was something permanent! But the doctor told us febrile seizures are actually quite common in young children when their temperature rises too fast. He recovered perfectly fine and is super active now, so try not to stress too much, just keep the fever in check.

I completely understand how scary even the thought of this is, I used to lose sleep googling these things. Yes, rapid spikes in fever can cause what they call febrile seizures, especially in young kids. It’s absolutely terrifying to witness, but recognizing that it happens and knowing you should consult a doctor immediately helps bring some control to the anxiety.

I was actually just reading up on this yesterday because my cousin's baby got a really bad flu. Apparently, it's the sudden jump in temperature that triggers it in young children rather than how long the fever lasts. It's wild how the body reacts, but definitely a good idea to consult a pediatrician if the fever goes way too high.

When the body temperature goes too high, it really messes with your nervous system and can cause febrile seizures, mostly in young kids. Just like keeping hydrated and maintaining electrolyte balance is crucial during intense training, keeping the body cool and getting medical help during a massive fever spike is super important.

Look, if the fever is crossing 102-103 or if someone actually had a fit, don't waste time looking up answers on your phone. High fevers can indeed trigger seizures, especially in kids, and it's a medical emergency. Book an online consult or head to the nearest clinic right away.

Dekho, fever agar bohot zyada high ho toh baccho mein seizure ya jhatke aane ka darr bilkul hota hai. Isko halke mein mat lo aur ghabraane ki jagah seedha doctor ke paas jao. Ghar pe patti karte raho temperature low karne ke liye par doctor ki advice sabse zaroori hai.

Aise situations sach mein bohot scary hote hain, especially with little kids. High fever can definitely cause a seizure, so it's always best to keep paracetamol handy (as prescribed by your doc) and do sponge baths to bring the heat down. If it actually happens, please head to the hospital immediately.
