Can a heart attack last for weeks?

My mother-in-law had some chest pain and breathlessness on and off for a couple of weeks, and she was scared it was a 'slow' heart attack. I always thought heart attacks are sudden. Is it possible for them to last for weeks, even with milder symptoms?

A heart attack lasting for weeks sounds like a nightmare, thankfully that's not how it works! But honestly, thinking about heart issues makes me realize I should cut down on my late-night cheese naan deliveries. If you have been feeling unwell for weeks, please get checked by a doctor instead of neglecting it.

Nahi na, a heart attack itself cannot last for weeks, that is a sudden emergency. But haan na, some people might experience mild chest pain or breathing issues coming and going for weeks before the actual attack. If you feel any such discomfort, please show it to a doctor soon.

I just recovered from a heart issue last month, and trust me, the attack itself is sudden and doesn't last for weeks. However, the feeling of heaviness and fatigue can definitely linger during recovery, or build up weeks before. Take my advice, go to a cardiologist and get an ECG done to be safe.

I completely understand how terrifying it is to worry about heart health, and I've spent many sleepless nights overthinking this too. To ease your mind: an actual heart attack is sudden and doesn't last for weeks, though anxiety can make you feel tight chest muscles for a long time. Definitely see a doctor to rule out anything serious and calm your mind.

No, a heart attack doesn't last weeks, but warning symptoms can definitely occur in the weeks leading up to it. My fitness app showed a sudden jump in my resting heart rate over a few weeks, which prompted me to get a checkup. Track your health closely and consult a professional if anything seems off.
