Can a heart attack cause back pain?

This nagging back pain has been with me for a few weeks, especially in my upper back. My neighbour was telling me that sometimes back pain can be a sign of a heart attack, especially for women. I'm a bit worried, so I wanted to ask if a heart attack can actually manifest as back pain.

Yes, sometimes the pain from the heart can radiate to the upper back, which is why we must listen to our body's silent signals. Keep your mind calm, stay positive, and do not panic, but please take this as a sign to care for yourself. It is wise to seek a doctor's guidance immediately if you feel this discomfort.

I have to be very careful with my health tracking because of my PCOS, and I know pain can sometimes travel in unexpected ways. Upper back pain, especially between the shoulder blades, can actually be a symptom of a heart attack in women. Please don't ignore this; it's safest to consult a doctor right away to get it checked.

My cardiologist explained to me that referred pain from the heart travels along the same nerve pathways as the neck and upper back. This is why a heart attack can present as sudden, unexplained back pain, particularly in women and elderly patients. If this pain is accompanied by sweating, shortness of breath, or lightheadedness, go to the emergency room immediately.

Having lived with high BP for years, I've learned that heart pain doesn't always show up in the chest; it can easily radiate to your back, jaw, or neck. If you have high blood pressure, you must take these symptoms seriously and get a proper ECG done. Keep up with your lifestyle changes and see your doctor regularly.
