Can a hangover give you a fever?
After a party last night, I woke up feeling really sick, with a pounding head and body aches. I also feel quite warm. Does a bad hangover sometimes make you feel like you have a fever?

Man, my head is already spinning from lack of sleep, and reading this makes me feel dehydrated. A hangover can make you feel burning hot and miserable, but a real fever means you've probably caught a bug. Chug some water and go back to sleep.
Alcohol is highly dehydrating and acidic, which can disturb your digestion and body temperature. While it might make you feel hot, a true fever is usually an immune response. Stick to light khichdi and buttermilk today, and consult a doctor if the temperature rises.
Don't run to get blood tests done immediately, as hangovers often just cause body heat due to dehydration. Try drinking cheap and effective electral water and resting. If the fever stays above 100 degrees till tomorrow, then visit a local clinic for a basic checkup.
Do not treat a post-party fever with random hangover cures from the internet. A fever is a clear sign of inflammation or infection, not just dehydration. Go see a qualified doctor to find out what is actually causing it.
I totally get it, waking up feeling feverish and sick after a night out is the worst feeling ever. Please don't be too hard on yourself. Sip some warm water, rest your body, and if you feel worse, please reach out to a doctor.
Don't panic, it is quite common to feel feverish when your body is extremely dehydrated from alcohol. Just take a cool shower, drink plenty of fluids, and rest. If the fever is actually high, we will go see a doctor, so don't worry.
Whenever I drink heavily without hydrating, my body feels extremely warm and I get a low-grade feverish feeling the next day. I usually just drink lots of coconut water and sleep it off. If it doesn't go away, I always visit my family doctor.
I was actually reading up on this because it happened to a friend. Apparently, alcohol can temporarily impair your immune system, making it easier to catch a viral infection while you are out. So the fever might be a real cold starting up!
