Can a fatty liver cause high liver enzymes?

I was diagnosed with a fatty liver last year, and my recent blood tests showed elevated liver enzyme levels. I'm wondering if my fatty liver condition is directly causing these high enzyme readings.

Yes, a fatty liver is one of the most common reasons for elevated SGOT and SGPT levels. You must cut down on refined sugars, deep-fried food, and processed grains. Focus on a high-fiber vegetarian diet with plenty of green vegetables to help detox your liver naturally.

My doctor said I have mild fatty liver and my enzymes are slightly high. I am a bit scared because I don't know much about this. Does this mean my liver is permanently damaged, or can it be reversed with simple diet changes?

I panicked like crazy when my blood report showed high liver enzymes due to Grade 2 fatty liver. But my doctor reassured me that fatty liver is completely reversible. I just did daily walks, cut down on junk food, and my levels came back to normal in three months!

Yes, absolutely. When fat accumulates in the liver cells, it causes mild inflammation, which makes the liver leak enzymes into the bloodstream. It's very common but needs attention. Try to lose about 5-10% of your body weight and avoid any alcohol completely.

My teenage son's liver enzymes were high due to fatty liver from eating too much fast food. We immediately stopped all outside food and started home-cooked meals with less oil. His levels came back to normal in a few months, so please don't worry, it is manageable.

Yes, it does. Fat buildup causes inflammation, which spikes your SGPT and SGOT. Stop looking for home remedies and get an ultrasound done, then show it to a proper hepatologist. It is easily reversible if you take action now.

I completely understand how terrifying it is to see high numbers on your liver report; my anxiety went through the roof when it happened to me. But please breathe, fatty liver is very common and highly manageable. Just follow your doctor's advice and don't google too much.

Yes, elevated ALT and AST (liver enzymes) are classic indicators of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD). While lifestyle changes like diet and exercise are the primary line of treatment, you must consult a gastroenterologist to rule out other causes of liver inflammation.
