Can a diabetic fast for 3 days?

My family observes a specific fast that lasts for three days, usually involving very little food or just water. With my diabetes, I'm worried if it's possible for me to participate safely. What are the risks?

Fasting for 3 days? I get cranky if my tea is delayed by 10 minutes! Honestly, at our age, doing a 3-day fast with diabetes is highly risky and can cause a severe crash in sugar. Please don't try this unless your doctor has given a green light and monitored you.

A 3-day fast? I can't even imagine skipping lunch, let alone three whole days of no food! But joking aside, with diabetes, that is extremely risky for your glucose levels. It's much better to eat small, healthy meals throughout the day to keep things stable.

I have been managing my type 2 diabetes for years, and a 3-day fast is something I would never attempt. It can cause severe hypoglycemia, especially if you are on insulin or sulfonylureas. Please consult your endocrinologist to understand the risks before attempting any long fasts.

I recently had a major health scare because I tried a long intermittent fast without consulting my doctor. My sugar levels dropped dangerously low and I ended up in the emergency room. Please learn from my mistake and don't fast for 3 days without strict medical supervision.

Oh god, fasting for 3 days sounds so extreme and scary! I would constantly worry about sugar levels dropping to dangerous lows or getting ketoacidosis. Please, please be very careful and do not do this without speaking to a specialist first. Your safety comes first!
