Can a diabetic eat cashew nuts?

Finding healthy snack options that won't spike my blood sugar is a constant goal. Cashew nuts are a favourite at home, and I eat them sometimes. I wanted to confirm if it's generally safe for a diabetic person to eat cashew nuts.

The dietitians at the hospital always tell us that cashews are fine in moderation, but fried or salted ones are a big no. You should ask your doctor clearly about how many nuts you can safely include in your daily meal plan based on your lipid profile.

Haan bilkul kha sakte hain, bas quantity ka dhyan rakhna padega na. Kaju mein healthy fats hote hain jo acche hain, par jyada khane se calories badh jayengi. Din mein 4-5 kaju khana bilkul safe hai.

I understand how hard it is to find safe snacks when you have diabetes. Raw or dry-roasted cashews are a wonderful option because they don't spike your sugar quickly. I always mix them with some almonds and walnuts for a healthy evening snack.

I was researching healthy snacks for my dad and found out that cashews actually have a lower glycemic index compared to other snacks. They contain magnesium which is great for insulin sensitivity. Just make sure they are plain and not sugar-coated!

Cashews are good for health but make sure to avoid the salted ones if you also monitor your blood pressure like me. Keeping a check on your portion size and doing regular medical checkups is key to managing both sugar and BP effectively.
