My young daughter has been having some bad coughing fits recently, especially at night. A couple of times, these fits were so intense that they actually made her throw up. Is it normal for really strong coughing to lead to vomiting, or should I be concerned?

Maine hal hi me search kiya tha is bare me jab mujhe severe dry cough thi. It’s actually called 'tussive emesis' aur ye heavy pressure on diaphragm ki wajah se vomiting trigger kar deta hai, quite logical actually.

I totally get it how exhausting it is when you keep coughing until you vomit, it literally drains all energy. Please take proper warm fluids and don't strain yourself too much, hope you feel better.

Yes absolutely, it can trigger gag reflex and cause vomiting. Make sure you hydrate properly and if this persistent dry cough doesn't go away in a week, consult a physician.
