Can a cold give you a fever?

I've been feeling quite congested and my throat is sore, basically a standard cold. Now I'm starting to feel a bit hot and tired. Can a regular cold actually give you a fever, or does that usually mean it's something more serious?

Yes, a cold can definitely bring a mild fever along! It is just your immune system fighting off the virus. Get some cozy blanket time and hot soup, you will be fine soon!

A low-grade fever is quite common with viral colds as your body fights the infection. Keep an eye on the temperature; if it goes above 102°F or lasts more than three days, please see a doctor.

Yes, but don't just assume any fever is just a 'cold' based on internet comments. If you have severe body pain or chills, get a doctor's opinion instead of trying random home tips.

Drinking warm turmeric milk or tulsi tea can help soothe a mild cold-induced fever. However, if you feel short of breath or extremely weak, please consult a medical practitioner immediately.

Yes, a mild fever is normal with a cold. No need to run for expensive laboratory tests immediately; just rest and monitor your temperature for 48 hours before planning a clinic visit.

Don't ignore it if the fever keeps coming back. I once ignored a cold-fever thinking it would pass, and it turned into a bad chest infection. Please get a proper doctor's checkup if it doesn't clear up.
