Can a clogged duct cause a fever?

As a new mom, I've been having some trouble with breastfeeding, and my breast feels really hard and sore. Today, I also developed a slight fever, which has me worried. Can a clogged milk duct actually cause a fever like this, or is it something else?

I am having a clogged duct right now and my temperature is rising. Did anyone else feel really shivery and hot when this happened? I am getting a bit worried if this is normal or if I need to rush to a clinic.

Yes, a clogged duct can cause a fever, which my mother-in-law says is due to trapped milk. However, a fever usually means it is turning into an infection called mastitis. Please consult your doctor soon for safe guidance.

When my wife had this issue, our gynecologist at the hospital told us that a fever with a clogged duct needs immediate attention to prevent mastitis. I highly recommend calling your doctor clearly to see if you need antibiotics.

I am new to breastfeeding and this sounds quite scary. Does a fever from a clogged duct mean I have to stop feeding my baby from that side, or should I continue feeding normally?

A fever is the body's natural response to inflammation. Gently massaging the area under a warm shower and practicing deep, calm breathing can help release the block. But if the fever remains high, please seek medical help.
