Can a chiropractor help arthritis?

My doctor said I have early arthritis in my knees, and I'm looking for ways to manage the pain. A friend suggested looking into chiropractic treatment. Can a chiropractor actually help with arthritis?

While a chiropractor might help with joint alignment, remember that arthritis is an inflammatory condition. Eating anti-inflammatory foods like turmeric, garlic, and avoiding processed sugars helps manage the swelling from within. Consult a rheumatologist first before getting any heavy adjustments.

A chiropractor might give temporary relief, but for arthritis, keeping the joint moving is key. If your doctor allows, doing low-impact exercises like swimming or regular daily walking is much better for long-term joint lubrication and strength.

At my age, arthritis in the knees and back is common. I tried a chiropractor once, but the sudden adjustments felt too risky for my old bones. Regular physiotherapy and gentle oil massages gave me much safer and lasting relief.

I was actually reading about this because my mom has rheumatoid arthritis. It seems chiropractic care can help with osteoarthris by improving joint mobility, but for active inflammatory arthritis, forceful cracking can actually make it worse. Quite tricky!

With chronic conditions like arthritis or thyroid, we have to be very careful. Before going to a chiropractor, you should get proper X-rays and blood tests done, and consult an orthopedic doctor. Always keep a track of your joint health regularly.

Actually, chiropractor treatment is a bit risky for arthritis, yaar. If they do those heavy adjustments on inflamed joints, it can cause more pain. Better to stick to a good physiotherapist who knows how to handle arthritis safely.

Please be extremely careful. I went to a chiropractor for my joint pain, and one aggressive neck adjustment made my inflammation ten times worse and I ended up in severe pain for weeks. Please see a qualified rheumatologist or orthopedic doctor instead.
