Can a broken bone cause vomiting?

My son fell from his bicycle yesterday and broke his arm, it was quite bad. After the accident, he also vomited a couple of times. Is it possible for a broken bone to cause vomiting, or should I be worried about something else?

Yeah, it can. When I broke my collarbone during football, the sheer pain and shock made me feel incredibly nauseous and I ended up vomiting. It's usually the body's reaction to intense pain and adrenaline.

Yes, extreme pain or shock from a fracture can cause vomiting, but it's important to rule out other injuries. When we went to a multi-specialty hospital for my brother's injury, the emergency doctors monitored him closely. Please ask your doctor clearly to ensure there are no internal head or abdominal injuries causing it.

Vomiting can happen due to severe shock and sudden pain from a fracture. While light ginger tea can sometimes help soothe normal nausea, a broken bone is a serious medical emergency. Please skip any home remedies for this and take the person to a hospital immediately.

Yes, vomiting can happen due to shock, but do not ignore it. I once ignored severe nausea after an injury thinking it was just pain, but it turned out to be a sign of a more serious concussion. Please get a proper doctor's checkup immediately to be safe.

Oh absolutely, the body goes into complete panic mode. When I cracked my ankle, the pain was so bad I couldn't even sleep, and the nausea kept me up all night. It is a horrible feeling, but quite common with severe fractures.
