Can a breast biopsy cause cancer to spread?

My sister just found a lump and the doctor suggested a biopsy. She's really scared now, saying she heard somewhere that taking a sample might make the cancer spread if it is cancerous. Is there any truth to this worry about a breast biopsy?

I totally get it, hearing the word biopsy itself brings so much fear and anxiety about the cancer spreading. But please be reassured that scientific studies show a biopsy does not cause cancer to spread. It is a very safe and absolutely necessary step to get the right treatment.

Haan na, starting me sabko yahi darr lagta hai ki biopsy se spread ho jayega. But actually modern techniques are very safe and it doesn't cause any spread. Doctor ki baat suno aur tension mat lo, sab theek hoga.

No, please don't believe those who say it spreads. I love using natural remedies for general wellness, but when it comes to lumps, you cannot avoid a biopsy. It is a safe test and the only way to get correct treatment on time.

No, it is a very common myth but medically not true at all. A biopsy is the only practical way for doctors to know if a lump is harmless or needs treatment. Don't listen to neighborhood rumors, just go ahead with the procedure as advised by your oncologist.

No, it does not. My doctor detailed the entire procedure for me and explained that they use a coaxial sleeve needle which ensures that the tissue sample is completely contained inside the needle, preventing any cancer cells from spreading. It's a highly researched and safe procedure.

No, my dear. A biopsy is done to understand the illness, it does not cause it to spread. Keep your mind calm, stay positive, and trust the medical process. Things will work out fine, just take care of yourself.

No, it does not spread. When my daughter had a lump removed and biopsied, I had the same terrifying doubt in my mind. The specialists explained that they use special protective needles that prevent any leakage of cells. Please go ahead with it for peace of mind.

No, it doesn't spread cancer at all, that's just an old wives' tale. I accompanied my mom for her biopsy, and she was so relieved after it was done. We actually went out and had some amazing chole bhature right after to cheer her up, so don't worry!

No, it doesn't spread cancer. Honestly, delaying the biopsy out of this fear will only delay your diagnosis and treatment, which is much more risky. Get it scheduled quickly so you can get the reports and plan the next steps with your doctor.

I completely understand why you are asking this; when I had to get a biopsy, I couldn't sleep for days worrying about the exact same thing. But doctors assured me that the procedure is highly controlled and does not spread the cells. It is just a myth, so please try to take a deep breath.
