Can a 4 month old sleep on stomach?
My baby is now 4 months old and has started turning over onto his stomach when he's sleeping. My mother-in-law says it's fine, but I've read online that it's not safe. Should I be worried if he sleeps like that?

Honestly, no. At 4 months, they shouldn't sleep on their stomach unless they can roll over both ways on their own. Always put them on their back to sleep to be totally safe.
I completely understand the anxiety, it used to keep me up all night staring at the crib. It is so hard to constantly flip them back, but please try to keep them on their back for safety. You are doing a great job, don't worry.
Oh, I panicked so much when my little one started rolling onto his tummy at night. But my pediatrician told me if they roll over by themselves, it's usually fine. Just keep the crib totally clear of pillows and blankets.
My daughter started doing this at exactly four months and it was exhausting. What helped was swaddling her with arms free so she could use her hands if she rolled. Just make sure the mattress is quite firm.
Mere saath bhi same problem thi, my baby wouldn't sleep on her back. I used to give her a gentle warm mustard oil massage before bed to soothe her. It helped her sleep deeply on her back without fussing.
Please don't take any chances with infant sleep positions. I once ignored minor developmental signs and really regretted not asking professional help earlier. Just call your pediatrician and get their direct green light.
Better to follow the safety rules so we avoid unnecessary clinic visits and hospital bills. Pediatrician consultations and emergency runs cost a lot these days. Just use a firm, cheap mattress and keep them on their back.

I am also trying to learn about baby care as I'm expecting soon. Is it safe if they roll onto their stomach by themselves while sleeping? Or do we have to wake up and turn them back every single time?
Actually, I was just reading up on this because my cousin's baby is 4 months old. Safe sleep guidelines say back is best until they turn one. It's crazy how many rules there are for babies these days, na?
I can only share what we did with our boy. We strictly kept him on his back until he was about six months and rolling easily. It just gave us peace of mind, though every kid develops differently.
