Can 6 month old sleep on stomach?
My 6-month-old baby girl sometimes turns to her stomach while sleeping. My mother says it's normal at this age, but I am still worried. Is it okay for her to sleep on her stomach?

Listen, if my 6-month-old sleeps peacefully on their stomach, I am not moving them because I desperately need those two hours of sleep myself! But seriously, if they rolled over to that position on their own, they have the strength to roll back. Just make sure the crib is empty.
If they are rolling onto their tummy by themselves, they are fine to sleep that way. Just stop swaddling them if you haven't already, as they need their hands free to push themselves up. Keep the mattress firm and clear.
At 6 months, most babies develop enough motor skills to roll over both ways. While the general safety guidelines recommend starting them on their back, they can stay on their stomach if they flipped themselves. Still, checking with your pediatrician at the next checkup is the best approach.
I totally get it, the constant worry about their sleeping position can keep you up all night. It is completely normal to feel anxious. But at 6 months, they usually have much better neck control, so if they roll over themselves, you can breathe a little easier.

I believe in regular monitoring for all health matters, just like I do with my thyroid blood tests every few months. For baby sleep milestones, it is best to discuss it during your routine pediatric follow-ups. They can check your baby's physical development and give you personalized advice.
