Can 5 month old sleep on tummy?

Our pediatrician told us to always put the baby on their back to sleep. But my 5-month-old keeps flipping onto his tummy. I wanted to know if it's safe for him to sleep on his tummy now that he can roll over.

I once ignored small signs with my health and paid a heavy price later, so I never take risks now. Please don't take sleep safety lightly or assume things. Take your baby to the clinic and get the doctor's clear okay on their neck and core strength.

Completely agree with putting them on their back first. If they roll over naturally, just make sure there are no loose sheets in the crib.

Haan, mere bete ne bhi 5th month me hi tummy pe sona shuru kiya tha. Pehle toh darr lagta tha, par doctor ne bola agar baccha khud se palat raha hai toh tension mat lo. Bas dhayan rakhna ki gadda soft na ho, okay?

It is totally normal for babies to start finding their favorite sleeping spots now! 😍 Just keep the bed firm and empty. Happy parenting journey to you! ✨

In our family, elders say tummy sleeping is fine, but we always followed our pediatrician's advice. The doctor told us to always put the baby down on their back. If they flip on their own during sleep, it is fine, but never place them face down yourself.

Just like how we need proper form and muscle strength before starting heavy workouts, babies need core and neck strength to roll. If your pediatrician confirms their developmental milestones are on track, let them roll. Meanwhile, don't forget to keep up with your own daily walks for stamina!

My cousin's baby does this all the time now and she gets so worried. Honestly, I think as long as the bed doesn't have soft toys and pillows blocking them, it is chill. But yeah, maybe ask a doc just to be 100% sure.
