Are you still contagious after fever breaks?

I had a fever for two days but it finally broke this morning, and I'm feeling much better now. I want to go back to work tomorrow, but my colleague is worried about getting sick. Is it possible to still spread the infection even if my fever is gone?

Honestly, yes. I had flu last week and my fever broke on Wednesday, but my husband caught it from me on Thursday evening because I thought I was safe. Doctors suggest staying isolated for another day or two even after the temperature is normal.

Yeah, actually you are. My doc told me you are usually contagious for at least 24 hours after your fever naturally goes down without any paracetamol. So don't rush back to college immediately, bro.

From what I have observed in my years, rushing back to work immediately after the fever breaks is how the whole office gets sick. The body is still shedding the infection. Rest for one more day; your body and your colleagues will thank you.

Ho na, log thoda jaldi normal life me wapas chale jaate hain. But actually, virus thoda time rehta hai body me fever jaane ke baad bhi. Apne ghar waalon ki safety ke liye ek-do din aur thoda dhyan rakho.

Yes, you can still spread the virus. It is safest to wait at least 24 to 48 hours after the fever subsides before mixing with others.
