Are you only contagious when you have a fever?

My son had a slight fever yesterday but it's gone today, though he's still a bit sniffly. I'm wondering if I should send him to school tomorrow or keep him home. Are people only contagious when they actively have a fever, ya not?

Haan na, bilkul nahi! Log sochte hain fever chala gaya toh sab thik hai. Actually, cold and cough waale virus toh pehle aur baad me bhi spread hote hain na. Thoda safety rakhna hi chahiye.

Aise bina fever ke bhi virus failta hai ji. If you are not sure, getting a basic viral panel test done can save you money on wrong medicines later, though those tests are a bit costly now. Best is to stay home for 2-3 days so family members don't catch it and double your medical bills.

Not at all, you can be contagious even before the fever starts and after it ends. Personally, I avoid the gym or public parks and only do light indoor stretches when I'm under the weather, just to keep others safe.

Bro, definitely not. Last semester my roommate didn't have any fever, just a mild throat itch, and within three days the whole hostel wing was down with flu. You are totally contagious even without the temperature.

Please don't make the mistake I did. I thought no fever meant I was fine, went to a family gathering, and ended up giving everyone a bad chest infection. If you have even a mild sniffle or body ache, get a doctor's opinion and isolate yourself.

The body throws out toxins even when we feel the fever has subsided. Even during this recovery phase, you remain contagious. I suggest practicing simple deep breathing in isolation to heal your lungs without passing anything to your loved ones.

Fever is just our body's way of fighting, but the virus stays active even when the body cools down. Sip warm haldi milk or ginger tea to soothe your throat, but if you feel breathless or have heavy congestion, please go see a doctor immediately.

I used to think this too, but actually, you can spread the virus even before you feel sick. It's so tricky! Just wear a mask and wash your hands frequently if you feel a little off.

No, that's a total myth! You can actually be spreading germs even before you realize you are sick 😷 Safe to stay home and enjoy some hot soup until you're completely fine! ✨

In my seventy years, I have seen many people make this mistake and spread colds to their grandchildren. The infection remains in your breath and cough even after the temperature drops. Give it a few days of full rest before meeting others.

Agreed, you can spread the infection even without a fever. Better to isolate for at least 48 hours after your symptoms improve.

Please take rest. No, you can still be contagious without a fever, so don't rush back to your routine too quickly. Hope you feel better soon.
