Are you born with rheumatoid arthritis?

My hands and knees have been aching a lot lately, especially in the mornings. My father had severe rheumatoid arthritis, and I'm wondering if this condition is something that people are born with, like a genetic predisposition.

No, children are not born with this usually, it comes with age and weak immunity. In our village, we used to drink warm milk with a pinch of organic turmeric for joint stiffness. But this is a serious matter, so you must show it to a proper doctor at a hospital.

No beta, you aren't born with the actual pain, but the family history can make you prone to it. When my joint pain started, I tried warm mustard oil massage and raw turmeric water in the morning, which gave some relief. But along with these home remedies, proper medical treatment is very necessary.

It is an autoimmune issue where your genetics from birth play a role, but it starts later in life. Since I manage my diabetes, I know how crucial inflammation is. I have to be very careful with my diet, avoiding processed sugar, which also helps keep joint inflammation low.

Having PCOS has taught me that chronic conditions usually have genetic roots from birth but trigger due to triggers. RA is similar as it is autoimmune. Please don't self-medicate based on internet articles; it's a complex condition and needs a specialist's guidance.

Like my thyroid issue, RA is autoimmune and can have genetic links from birth, but starts later. The key is regular blood tests and doctor follow-ups to keep track of inflammatory markers. Don't worry, with proper monitoring, these things are manageable.

It is an autoimmune condition that develops over time, not something you are born with actively. However, because it can affect your daily life severely, you must get it checked by a specialist doctor. Do not delay or try to manage joint pain at home.

Bro, you aren't born with it. My cousin got diagnosed at 22, and he was totally athletic before that. It just randomly triggered. He is doing fine now with his meds and gym, so don't stress too much about it.

The genetic tendency might be there from birth, but the body only shows symptoms when there is imbalance. Along with your doctor's medicines, practicing daily Sukshma Vyayama (gentle joint movements) and Pranayama helped me keep my joint mobility intact. Be gentle with your body.

You are not born with it, but please don't ignore early joint pain like I did. I thought my wrist pain was just fatigue and delayed seeing a doctor for a year, which caused permanent swelling. Get a proper checkup immediately if you feel joint stiffness.

I have been having stiff fingers in the morning and I am terrified it's RA since my mother has it. Is it true that we definitely get it if we are born with the family genes? Has anyone else experienced morning stiffness that turned out to be nothing major?

My rheumatologist explained that while we can inherit the genes that make us susceptible from birth, RA itself is triggered later by environmental factors or infections. It is not present at birth. He emphasized that early diagnosis is key to prevent joint damage, so get a rheumatoid factor test done if you have symptoms.

Son, nobody is born with this pain, it comes later in life's journey. I have lived with arthritis for twenty years now. Yes, some days are tough, but with a good doctor, light walks, and staying positive, you can live a very happy and active life.
