Are yeast infection common during pregnancy?

Since I'm in my second trimester, I've been feeling a bit itchy and uncomfortable down there. My sister told me yeast infections are quite common during pregnancy. Is this really true, and what should I do?

Yes, they are very common due to hormonal changes in the body. Doing gentle stretches, wearing loose cotton clothes, and practicing basic daily hygiene helps. Always consult your doctor before applying any creams though.

During my pregnancy, I had this twice. Eating homemade curd daily and avoiding processed sugars helped me a lot naturally. But please don't use any home remedies inside, just let your gynecologist prescribe a safe cream.

Yes, yeast infections are extremely common during pregnancy because of high estrogen levels. Do not self-medicate with over-the-counter creams. Just call your doctor, they will give you pregnancy-safe suppositories that work in a day or two.

I was researching this for my wife recently. Apparently, the increased sugar levels in vaginal secretions during pregnancy make it very easy for yeast to grow. It is super common and nothing to be embarrassed about.

Yes, they are very common, but please do not take any oral antifungal pills without checking with your doctor as some can be risky during pregnancy.

I track all my symptoms on my pregnancy app, and vaginal discharge changes are logged by almost 60% of pregnant women. Yeast infections are very common. Keep your vaginal area dry and track any severe itching to report to your doctor.

I had this during my first trimester and it was so uncomfortable! My doctor told me it's totally normal because our body's pH levels change. She gave me a safe gel and it cleared up very quickly, so don't worry.

I totally get it, dealing with itching and discomfort when you are already dealing with pregnancy fatigue is so frustrating. Just know that it is very common and easily treatable, so don't hesitate to tell your doctor.
