Are whole wheat tortillas good for diabetics?

My husband has diabetes and we are trying to manage his diet better with healthier alternatives. We often have rotis, but sometimes we want to switch things up. Are whole wheat tortillas a good and safe option for diabetics?

Whole wheat tortillas are better than refined flour ones, but they still have carbs. I ignored my high sugar levels for years and ended up with complications. Please keep checking your blood sugar regularly and consult your doctor before making big diet changes.

I manage my thyroid and diet closely, and wheat can sometimes cause blood sugar spikes for certain individuals. It is best to check your HbA1c levels regularly. Keep a close watch on how your body reacts to these wheat wraps with routine checkups.

They are definitely a better alternative to white flour tortillas, but remember that portion control is key. Even whole wheat can spike sugar if you eat too much. Try pairing it with lots of green veggies and paneer to slow down sugar absorption.

They are fine in moderation, but fresh homemade multigrain rotis are much better for the body. Along with simple food, practicing Mandukasana and regular deep breathing daily has personally helped me keep my sugar levels very stable.

Yes, they are a great swap! Just make sure to read the label for any hidden sugars or preservatives. Wrapping lots of fresh salad inside them makes it super tasty and healthy! 🥗

I was just reading up on this because my dad has diabetes. It seems the store-bought ones have quite a bit of sodium and additives. Maybe making simple whole wheat rotis at home is a safer and fresher option?

Haan na, buying readymade wraps from outside is always risky because they add chemical preservatives. Normal ghar ki roti with wheat and bran mix is much better and safer for sugar. Homemade is always best, ho na.

Adding some methi seeds or flaxseed powder to your diet naturally helps manage sugar. Whole wheat tortillas are okay, but if you are experiencing extreme thirst, frequent urination, or blurry vision, please don't rely on diet changes alone and see a doctor immediately.

Well, they are better than eating maida wraps, but my glucometer still gives me a angry look if I eat more than one. Doctors keep telling us to eat fiber, but honestly, controlling the urge to eat three of these is the hardest part.

Please be very careful. I once thought wheat wraps were completely safe, but hidden starches caused a major spike and landed me in trouble. You should always consult your diabetologist or a registered clinical dietitian to plan your specific carbohydrate limit.
