Are tums good after vomiting?
Kal raat se pet kharab hai, aur abhi vomiting bhi hui hai. Feeling very uneasy. I have some Tums at home. Are Tums good after vomiting to help settle the stomach, or should I take something else?

Vomiting is already bad enough, but chewing a chalky antacid right after might just make you want to throw up again! It is better to let your stomach rest, rinse your mouth, and maybe stick to plain water first.
I feel so sorry you are going through this, vomiting is very draining. Instead of Tums, which can feel heavy on an irritated stomach lining, try sipping a warm cup of weak ginger tea or electral water slowly. It helps soothe the tummy naturally.
I can barely keep my eyes open, but honestly, putting anything chalky in your mouth right after vomiting sounds like a terrible idea. Just sleep it off, drink some plain water, and if it continues, go see a doctor instead of experimenting.
Since I have thyroid issues, my stomach gets sensitive easily. Tums is mostly calcium carbonate, which can interfere with medications and might not help actual nausea. If you are vomiting frequently, please consult a doctor and get your basic thyroid/blood panels checked.
Honestly, whenever I puke after eating bad hostel food, I just drink lemon water with a bit of black salt. Tums is basically for acidity, so it won't really stop the actual vomiting sensation anyway. Just rest up.
No need to run after foreign brands like Tums. Just dissolve a pinch of salt and sugar in water, or drink fresh coconut water after your stomach settles. It is cheap, easily available, and replaces lost fluids instantly.
They might help with the burning sensation of acid in your throat after vomiting, but they won't stop you from feeling nauseous. Try resting for an hour and drink some light ORS water to rehydrate your body!
